QUANTUM CONSORTIUM WELCOMES WELLINGBOROUGH HOMES

Wellingborough Homes has been given a boost after joining an east midlands-based consortium of affordable homes developers.

The newly-created housing association will now be able to access the expertise and know-how of the Quantum Consortium to help it build new homes.

Quantum is already made up of three developer members - East Midlands Housing (lead investment partner), Derwent Living and Futures Housing Group, - together with three partner members - Advance Housing Association, Foundation HA and Rockingham Forest HA.

Dave Willis, Chief Executive of Wellingborough Homes, said: “As an organisation created through the transfer of housing stock, our priority is delivering on the service improvement promises we made to tenants.

“But we must have one eye on the future, and in order for Wellingborough Homes to grow we need to ensure that we build new homes. Through working with the Quantum Consortium we will be able to access the experience, skills and opportunities needed to be able to ensure the growth of our organisation.”

Initially Wellingborough Homes will focus on building more homes for social rent which could potentially include schemes which help in the regeneration of existing estates or help to address the needs of specific sections of the community.

Jim Patman, Development Director of EMH, lead investment partner of the Quantum Consortium, said: “We are delighted to welcome Wellingborough Homes to the Quantum Consortium and look forward to working together to build new homes in the district and beyond, using our combined knowledge and resources.

“The Quantum Consortium is keen to welcome new members into the group and ultimately benefit the people of the east midlands with quality, affordable housing.”

Quantum focuses on raising the design quality of new homes and ensuring the most environmentally friendly house-building technology is used.

Wellingborough Homes was established at the end of last year as a new housing association set up to receive the transfer of over 4,500 homes from the Borough Council of Wellingborough.
